i386/amd64 d-i images for Etch with kernel 2.6.21
Although I know someone had already made the same thing, I constructed a firm to build bpo-debian-installer for Etch and released first 2.6.21 backport version.
You can take it from usual place. There isn't any new features except the image uses 2.6.21.
There was a BoF in Edinburgh about "etch and a half".
i.e. do this thing officialy at some point in etch's cycle.
Perhaps you should join this effort!
Thanks for doing this BTW, it really helped me in the sarge days.
Add me to the list of grateful people! Saved me once before with Sarge, and I've got high hopes for this one on a new Intel DP35DP motherboard with that troublesome Marvell ATA chip.

Kernel 2.6.21...
I hope the tickless idle (NO_HZ) feature is enabled, I want to use it for a laptop... :)
Excellent!
A life saver, thank you. I was able to easily install Debian on a new Asus P5K-E motherboard with SATA DVD-R and SATA hard disks. The networking also worked during install. The default Debian Etch 4.0r1 netinstall disks had trouble, but this custom image worked no problems. Thanks!
Thanks for all the job you have made with this Debian Installer.
I spend 5 minutes to install the Distro in a new server with a 3ware raid controller that is not supported in 2.6.18 kernel.
Greetings for your job from Spain.
Javier :)
Do you know the config options you used to build this kernel? it's the only one I can find that works with my hardware
Corrine, please check /boot/config-* file.
Er, this should have been posted on the .21 entry, (this one does not work either) but the advice works. Thanks.
