Pretty much everything works without touching configuration files on Debian Lenny (2.6.26-2) and Lxde. With the default resolution fonts look terrible and the screen doesnt fit my monitor (Samsung Syncmaster 226BW). Changing the resolution with Lxde's Graphical configuration tool to 1280x768 makes things look a lot better. Not perfect, but certainly satisfactory considering the age of the video hardware.
The computer is slow: Pentium II / 333 MHz, 128 RAM.
Hard Drive: 6.4 GB.
Using Firefox and Opera is of course slow, but fine if you don't expect much. Flash videos almost play and you can listen to BBC radio with Real Player - if you don't do anything else at the same time.
If you want to get work done, use Vim, Mutt and other legendary Unix tools. :)
