Ethernet connection randomly disconnects and reconnects.  There are no PARMS shown by modinfo which one can adjust.
Switching to WICD from NetworkManger only marginally helps.
The atl1c driver is experimental and performance varies with machine and kernel.  I'm running a fully updated Kubuntu 12.04 with the 3.8.0-27-generic kernel. (2013-08-12T23:47:15+00:00)
